You call yourself a good person, you believe yourself to be a good person. You go to church, you pray to the God you believe in. You are good to your family, and friends. You do not do a lot of bad deeds; you live your life as good as possible. Someone you do not like you hate them, in spite you do bad things to them when they do not know. You tarnish their name, or you get a kick out of finding someway to harm them. It makes you happy to see them suffer, or brings you joy knowing you did something bad to them, that does not make you a good person. Knowing what is bad, and harming people is the worst sin there is. To knowingly do something bad, knowing it is bad is a sin; it is called envy, or anger also known as hatred, or pride. Three of the seven deadly sins. We as human are the worst animals in the animal kingdom. We are given a brain, that is the most intelligent of all species known on earth, yet we use our brain for evil. The majority of us live our lives in sin. Knowing something is bad and doing it, is worst than not knowing. But to have knowledge of right, and wrong, to purposely choose wrong, is not right. Look at the seven deadly sins known to all faith, and see how many we poses, or are guilty of. Man harms man out of hatred, greed, envy, pride, lust, sloth, and for some gluttony. Animals kill other animal out of survival. Man has many ways to survive but we harm each other for our own selfish reasons. The seven sins are known to man; for it is the sins we sin most. Human emotion is a big facture to the reasons we suffer, and sin. We allow our emotions to guide are action, rather than our heart, and reasoning. We act on instinct, and feeling, rather than rational thinking. To live is to suffer the Buddha believes, we suffer from our own thoughts. We cause our self to suffer, due to greed, envy, pride, lust, sloth, gluttony, and other sins. For our own salvation we must have knowledge, and self mastery is important. To master yourself is to control your destiny. We are here on earth but a fragment of time, a moment, an instinct, a fraction of time, and space; Yet our short time here on earth, we go through many emotions, and in that short period of time we can do so much harm, or so much good, the decision is our own to choose. The Buddha said “If you can not do any good for someone, make sure you do no harm as well.” I better me dot com, to better yourself one way or another.
